2. When did you come up with the idea for this platform?
The idea for the recenza.ro platform came to us 10 years ago, when we needed reliable service providers, and neither our friends nor our family knew anyone trustworthy to recommend.
The idea of developing a platform that would connect service providers and clients, along with our own need to find trustworthy experts, kept “haunting” us over the following years. In 2023, we began building it, and by 2024, we launched it.
3. Who is behind this project, and what do you aim to achieve with it?
Behind this project is a team of two IT specialists: myself, Ioana Roșu, a UX designer, and my husband, Silviu Roșu, a programmer.
We want to discover the coolest, most trustworthy, talented, and exceptional service providers. And I say this because everyone who has joined the platform so far fits that description perfectly — and I’m sure there are many more people like them out there.
We want them to be found more easily by people who need their services and, why not, to have their talent and hard work truly appreciated. To step out of the shadows with the help of reviews.
4. What is your opinion about the entrepreneurial environment in Romania, and how can Recenza contribute to its development?
Romania has a rapidly developing entrepreneurial environment. Since around 90% of people read reviews before making a decision, and Recenza is a space where clients can share real experiences with various businesses, these factors help increase people’s trust — leading to new contracts being secured much faster and more efficiently.
Businesses can receive direct feedback on how to improve their services. Clients can make more informed choices, which encourages competition based on quality rather than just price or marketing. At the same time, service providers are motivated to maintain their standards and positive reviews. Recenza supports local businesses, and small entrepreneurs who don’t have large marketing budgets can be discovered more easily.
5. What are the strengths of Recenza, and what sets this platform apart from job websites in Romania?
Recenza is NOT a job website — it’s a platform where experts build and manage their online reputation through authentic reviews.
